So my sister is always asking for gift cards for presents. You would think I would have a stack of cards ready to go. Not the case. I am usually scrambling to find something for her. This time was no exception. So I decided this time to do something about it. Well at least start. So ran out the door with some some supplies and here is the card I came up with. The robot, gears and designer paper comes from TPC Studio. The birthday sentiment comes from My favorite Things. The only thing is that I forgot my Stampin' Dimensionals as I ran out the door. What! Yes, my most used and prized product was forgotten at home. So I got the basics and used several strips of card stock to add dimension. 5 layers and guess what it worked.

This has to be one of my favorite stamp sets from The Project Bin. It is called In My Heart and it comes with great sentiments for Valentine's Day and it has a coordinating heart die that comes with it. Love this sentiment. Of all the things my arms have held, the best by far is you. The first thing for the card was the die cut of the heart. Then came the heat embossed gold sentiment. Next came little hearts stamped from the Simon Says Stamp You & Me stamp set. Gold hearts were punched. The Banner Punch provides the background for the heart. Baker's Twine, Rhinestones and corner rounding complete the card.

So I have had these two little robots in my craft collection for some time now. My friend Colleen won them at a event and she asked me if I wanted them. Of course I said yes and then they started to collect dust. I think this is another one that has sat unused for a couple of years. The robots come from Paper Smooches called Boom Bots. They were stamped and colored in with my Copics. The little hearts came from the Simon Says Stamps You & Me stamp set. Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine and Stampin' Up! Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper complete the card.

This has to be by far one of my favorite valentines that I made. I think it is because of the non-traditional color sheme in Tempting Turquoise of all colors. The background was done with my ink refill that I put a drop on a plastic plate. Then with my aqua painter I added water to give the wash look. Then gently I took my Whisper White cardstock and put it in the water ink refill mixture. I did several times until I got the desired color scheme. The first time you lay down it maybe too drenched with ink. You will be surprised how much color one drop gives you. The nice thing is you can just keep putting paper down into the mixture until there is no more ink left. A little drop goes a long way.
The sentiment comes from Rubbernecker called I want to. The heart was free form cut. Sequins, rhinestones and baker's twine complete the card.

The thing I love most about this card after the beautiful sentiment, And Suddenly all the love songs were about you, is the fact that the base color is not white. I really need to start challenging myself to more designer series paper and other color card stocks. I am a music lover and the quote just speaks to my heart. Songs are the gateway to my heart. The sentiment comes from the Mama Elephant Love Quotes stamp set. It is heat embossed on red card stock. White hearts were punched from the Owl punch. Sent with love retired designer series paper and baker's twine complete the card.

So I got this great silhouette stamp set at a local craft expo from the Technique Junkies. I have had it for good two years if not more. Every Valentine's I look at and say I am going to create with and I never did. This time I got inspired with my Distress Oxide inks and thought this will be the year I create a card with the Love Hands stamp. So I used my post its to mask a rectangle. Then blending with my Fired Brick, Wild Honey and Fozziled Amber my background was complete. I stamped the hands but then found that it was little faded the hands where I stamped on the distress ink. I used my black sharpie to color in the hands. If I wasn't impatient, I probably would maybe Heat embossed. The sentiment comes from the Mama Elephant Love Quotes stamp set.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, here are some Valentine's I have been working on. Here is my Happy Together card made with my favorite mugs from the Hug in a Mug stamp set. I was looking for a sentiment that would work and decided to go with the Happy Together from the retired B.Y.O.B. stamp set. I stamped the mugs in Pink Pirouette and Basic Black. The designer series paper comes from American Crafts Warm & Cozy. Enamel Dots and strips of card stock complete the card.

So I decided to take another try with Brusho Crystal Colour with the Beautiful Day stamp set. This time I used a piece of plastic which in my case was the lid of the tupperware container that I am storing my brusho in. I sprinkled some brusho and then I used my aqua painter to add water. In between the colors I cleaned off my aqua painter to reapply the water. Next I took my card stock and gently applied onto the brusho ink on with my lid. This allowed me to have some control of how soaked my Whisper White cardstock got. When I put the brusho and the water directly the paper started warping and wrinking. The nice thing is that I was able to get a few pieces of paper with the brusho technique with the lid. When the brusho dried that is when I stamped on the butterfly. White Perfect Accents and corner rounding complete the card.

So I think I have more than share of rainbow sets and clouds, but I told myself, I really needed another one. There is something about this die that makes rainbow making super easy and I love that cloud borders. So I am super happy to add it to my collection.
I decided to go with a pastel rainbow. Let see if I can remember the colors I used. Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight. Some paper piercing and I was able to put the card together. Baker's Twine is the finishing touch.
The rainbow set and die are called, Sunshines & Rainbows and Rainbow Builder Framelits Die.

I had a lot of fun making this card. The last time I used this set, I had a little trouble with using it. The trouble was getting a crisp image when stamping on watercolor paper. No matter what I did or what I used it was hard to get a good image. The image really shines when stamped on Whisper White. I just couldn't figure out a good way to color in the bulb. Then a lightbulb idea came to me, why not use the Work of Art images to color it in. Then I used the rays from the High Tide stamp set. And the little face well I just used my Sharpie for the project. Bubbles & Fizz designer series paper was the perfect background paper for the project. Did you know you can earn it for free during Sale-a-bration? Didn't I tell you that there was so many great items you can earn for free!

I love the Dare to Dream stamp set. There is so many great sentiments you can mix and match. I knew as soon as I earned it that I needed and it would be great addition for scrapbooking.
Here is one of my favorite pictures from the fall from one of my favorite places. I decided to showcase it on a page.
There is a hint of new products mixed in with some old on a neutral palette. The new products are the great buttons on the page. They are called True Gentleman Buttons. Love the faux wood buttons. Perfect for masculine and neutral color combinations. The second sneak peak is in the bottom right hand corner and it is the Tailored Tag Punch. It is a little hard to see but it is a great geometric shape.
I happy to say that the Leaf punch is staying. I put in a circle and made a great page element. I am a little sad to see another great designer series paper, Painted Autumn, retire. It felt good to scrapbook. It is on my goal list for 2018.

So how great is Hug in a Mug stamp set. I am really sorry to hear that it was not carried over. It has so many fun elements. Mugs that you can make any color. I decided to make a great scrapbook page to showcase my tree and my favorite treat. Another thing is that I am sorry to see retiring is the Merry Little Christmas designer series paper. Ink that was used was Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive and Tranquil Tide. Sequins and rhinestones complete the card.

Here is another card made with the Epic Celebrations stamp set. I used an old but great technique with color blocking. I heat embossed all the images with black embossing powder to make them stand out. I used the Bubbles & Fizz designer series paper as inspiration for my color scheme. Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist. Designer series paper and enamel dots from my craft stash complete the card.
